In response to the booming market for lactoferrin, this dairy client determined to equip their plant to efficiently extract this hot food manufacturing item from their cheese making processes. POWER provided multidiscipline design to convert an existing storage facility to lactoferrin production, entailing addition of CIP, salt and sterile filtration rooms and a main production room. A separate whey powder storage room was also added. Mechanical design included piping for steam, condensate, process, hydronic cooling and domestic water systems and high air exchange HVAC. POWER also provided construction support, including vendor and contractor submittal reviews, on-site observation and record drawings.
